Muni (Mountain Unicycling)
Muni is the off-road discipline of unicycling. Descents over roots and rocks, steep climbs, and technical trails demand maximum focus and riding technique. Every course brings new challenges—defined by endurance, courage, and control of the unicycle.
Disciplines
Muni is divided into several areas that demand different skills:
Loop course in off-road terrain with varied climbs and descents.
Fast descents on technically demanding trails.
Steep climbs to be completed in the shortest possible time.
Off-road course with obstacles where dismounting and remounting is allowed.
Note: Cyclocross at this Unicon is held as a fun-only event. It’s all about enjoyment and experience—no world title will be awarded.
Regulations
All Muni competitions are conducted according to the IUF Rulebook. Safety equipment such as a helmet, gloves, and knee pads is mandatory; additional protective gear is recommended. Any adjustments or notes for Unicon 22 will be published in due time.

The Muni competitions take place on varied trails at Wurbauerkogel and in Steyr.

Organizing Team
The Muni competitions of Unicon 22 are coordinated by an experienced and internationally well-versed organizing team.
Ben Soja supports the organizing team of UNICON 22 in the Cross Country discipline. As a dedicated unicyclist, he is especially excited to actively contribute to shaping his home World Championship.
The Downhill competitions of UNICON 22 are supported by Paul Baumgartner. As a long-time unicyclist with a focus on downhill, he brings experience and commitment to the organization of this discipline.
