Freestyle

Freestyle is one of the most creative yet technically demanding disciplines in unicycling. Acrobatics, dance-like movements, and musical interpretation merge into impressive routines. Every performance is unique—shaped by the riders’ skill, creativity, and style.

Disciplines

Freestyle is divided into four areas—from individual rides to large group performances:

Regulations

All Freestyle competitions are conducted according to the IUF Rulebook. Judging is carried out by panels who evaluate technique, creativity, interpretation, and overall impression. In X-Style, only the correct execution of tricks counts. Any adjustments or additional notes for Unicon 22 will be published in due time.

Regulations & Judging

All freestyle competitions at Unicon 22 are conducted in strict accordance with the IUF Rulebook 2019. Judging is carried out by qualified juries and is based on the criteria defined in the rulebook, including technique, creativity, interpretation, and overall impression.

In the X-Style discipline, only the correct and clean execution of the performed tricks is evaluated. Artistic or interpretative aspects are not taken into account.

Additional organizational notes as well as Unicon 22-specific regulations that supplement or further specify the Rulebook 2019 will be published in due time before the competition.
