Anti-Doping

Unicon 22 is committed to fair and clean competition. The basis is the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC), the guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), as well as the IUF Rulebook. This page informs athletes, coaches, and clubs about important regulations, obligations, and procedures.

Athletes’ Responsibility

  • Each participant is personally responsible for any substances that enter their body.
  • Possession, use, or attempted use of prohibited substances may result in immediate disqualification and a ban of up to four years in future competitions.
  • Even accidental doping does not protect from consequences.

Typical Risk Areas

  • Dietary supplements

Many supplements contain ingredients not listed on the packaging. Use only products tested by independent institutions.
  • Over-the-counter medication

Even freely available products (e.g., cold or pain medication) may be on the prohibited list. The effect depends on the active ingredient and dosage.
  • Prescription medication

If you are prescribed medication, inform your doctor that you are participating in an international sports competition.

Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE)

  • If you need to take medication that is on the WADA prohibited list, you must have a valid TUE.
  • The corresponding form must be submitted during on-site registration.
  • Without a valid exemption, participation in the competitions is not possible.
