Flatland Competitions

The entire competition will be conducted according to the IUF Rulebook 2019, supplemented by a few adjustments.

General Regulations

Qualification Round

All riders complete a 45-second Preliminary Run (without last-trick segments) to determine their starting position in the competition.

Battles

The top-ranked riders qualify directly for the final round.

All other qualified riders compete in the Lower Rounds.

The lowest-ranked riders are eliminated from the competition.

Lower Rounds

The Lower Rounds consist of a knock-out system with 90-second 1-vs.-1 battles (without last tricks).

The two best riders of a Lower Round advance to the next higher round. A best-trick showdown determines their position in the higher round.

Final Round

The final round also consists of a knock-out system with 120-second 1-vs.-1 battles and 3 attempts for one last trick.

Junior Expert Male

10 riders qualify further

  • Lower Round 1 (8 riders from qualification)
  • Final Round (2 riders from qualification + 2 riders from Lower Round 1)

Junior Expert Female

6 riders qualify further

  • Lower Round 1 (4 riders from qualification)
  • Final Round (2 riders from qualification + 2 riders from Lower Round 1)

Expert Male

26 riders qualify further

  • Lower Round 3 (8 riders from qualification)
  • Lower Round 2 (6 riders from qualification + 2 riders from Lower Round 3)
  • Lower Round 1 (6 riders from qualification + 2 riders from Lower Round 2)
  • Final Round (6 riders from qualification + 2 riders from Lower Round 1)

Expert Female

14 riders qualify further

  • Lower Round 1 (8 riders from qualification)
  • Final Round (6 riders from qualification + 2 riders from Lower Round 1)

Definition of the Scoring Criteria

  • Difficulty: Average difficulty of the landed tricks
  • Variety: Average variety of the landed tricks
  • Fullness: Proportion of time successfully used for tricks, including appropriate approach times
  • Style: Cleanliness and style of the landed tricks
  • Battling: Ability to respond to the opponent’s riding while countering with one’s own tricks and maintaining a higher riding level

Age Groups

Mandatory age groups:

U11, U15, U19, U30, U50, U70, 70+

Additional age groups (if at least 6 participants register in the age group):

U13, U17, U21, U23, U25, U40, U60
